STATESVILLE, NC – Carolina Farm Credit is looking for local leaders who are changing the future of rural communities and agriculture for the better. The search is a part of the Farm Credit 100 Fresh Perspectives initiative.
“North Carolina’s Agriculture is as diverse as the people that call this state home. We are confident that some of agriculture’s most innovative and well respected contributors call this state home.” said Vance C. Dalton, Jr., Carolina Farm Credit CEO.
The selection panel for the contest was recently chosen and applicants are encouraged to apply online at FarmCredit100.com. Nominations will be accepted until December 18, 2015.
The selection panel includes experts on rural matters with diverse perspectives and skill sets, including some from Farm Credit and others from across agricultural and rural industries. The panel includes Kathy S. Heustess, president and CEO, ArborOne Farm Credit, Florence, South Carolina, and Ann-Lamar Tuten, vice president: customer support, marketing and corporate events, AgFirst, Columbia, South Carolina.
“Each of our panelists will greatly enhance our nomination review process by contributing their extensive and diverse experience on matters affecting rural communities and agriculture,” said Leigh Picchetti, senior vice president, National Communications for the Farm Credit Council. “On behalf of Farm Credit, we are grateful these panelists are dedicating time to contribute their expertise to identifying the 100 visionaries.”
This panel of experts will evaluate and help select the top 100 honorees to be announced in March 2016. Farm Credit 100 Fresh Perspectives honorees will have the opportunity to share their stories and inspire with their vision throughout the Farm Credit centennial year in 2016 and beyond. Additionally, ten distinguished Farm Credit 100 Fresh Perspectives honorees — one from each nomination category — will receive a $10,000 award to help further their contributions to thriving rural communities and agriculture. These ten honorees and a guest also will be invited to Washington, D.C. to participate in a special Farm Credit recognition event in 2016.
