Let the Good Times Roll

Field of wildflowers in bloom

Hello everyone its Seth Harrill again. The past few weeks at Carolina Farm Credit have been an awesome experience. I have learned so much in a short period of time and I couldn’t be happier with this outcome.

So far in my internship, I have learned many important aspects of the loan process from start to finish, met with many clients, and observed the work of a loan analyst. I have also sat in on loan closings and visited farms to do appraisals, construction inspections, and customer check-ups. Having come from a farm background it is always good to get out and see how local farmers are getting along. Also getting to experience the diversity in the farming industry has been really interesting. We recently visited a daylily farm in Cleveland County which is far from the poultry, dairy, and grain farms that I’m used to visiting.

Recently, the other interns and I have been extremely focused on customer service and experimenting with ways to stand out and make our customers experience unique and valuable at the same time. We have conducted two surveys and received some really interesting feedback. One survey was for those who work for Carolina Farm Credit and the other was for our customers and anyone that has recently been through the process of getting a loan. Social networking and building key relationships are an important part of what we do at Carolina Farm Credit. Therefore, the other interns and I have been really determined to help our marketing team with this project. I cannot wait to see how our project turns out over the next four weeks. Overall, the past six weeks have been amazing and I’m eager to continue learning new aspects of the loan officer position.
