It is hard to believe that my time here at Carolina Farm Credit is coming to an end. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to work with and meet some amazing people in this organization. I came in knowing this would be a great experience but little did I know how it would have such a great impact on my summer.
I have spent this summer working alongside my mentor, Jake Vuncannon and other employees in the office. Everyone has taken time out of their day to show me various steps in the loan process and the various services CFC offers and I cannot thank them enough for that. Through this internship I have been able to gain a great amount of insight on how CFC operates and what it takes to work for this amazing company. This summer with Jake I have had the opportunity to be engaged in his daily schedule and see how a loan officer operates from a day to day basis. It has been very intriguing seeing how a loan is created and all the steps afterwards to ensure that our customers have the best experience. During my time here I have been able to observe all of the office positions here and see the contributions they make to the loan process and also their commitment to serve the customers. Throughout the summer I was able to go out on several farm visits and it was amazing to talk to these farmers and see all they go through to keep the world fed.
During this time all the interns have also been working together on a group project and it has been a pleasure to work with each and every one of them. Although we have not had the chance to meet in person due to Covid-19, we still have been able communicate regularly and I have appreciated all their great contributions and hard work.
I am going to cherish the time I spent in Ellerbe with my amazing co-workers and all the great people of the town. Thanks to everyone for helping make a little old farm boy from Robeson county feel at home. I am entering my Junior year at N.C State and hope one day in the future I can work for Carolina Farm Credit or a company just as great.
