Well, my time here at Carolina Farm Credit is winding down to a few more days, and it is bittersweet to say the least. I am looking forward to my last year at N.C. State, especially attending football games with all my friends, but I am definitely going to miss everyone I have met here this summer.
Over the past couple of months I have learned a lot about the loan process from start to finish. This has included meeting with farmers and others in the community, which I enjoyed a lot. I have also attended meetings in different areas that pertained to different forms of agriculture, and the interns and I had the opportunity to tour Metrolina Greenhouses, which was an awesome experience! Never in my life have I seen anything quite like it, and I am glad we had the chance to spend some time down there.
Going out and meeting with farmers has been the real highlight of my summer. I have always enjoyed going out and seeing different forms of agriculture and being able to do that has been a real treat. This internship, as well as the one I participated in with Tyson Foods, has assured me that whatever career path I choose, it would be a lot more enjoyable if I am able to interact with people who are fully invested in what they do.
I want to thank Carolina Farm Credit and everyone in the Sparta, Jefferson, and Yadkinville branches again for allowing me to spend my summer here, and I am looking forward to where my career takes me in the future.
