Buzzing to Be a Carolina Farm Credit Intern
Hi, everyone! My name is Jessie Cline, and this summer I will be interning as a Loan Officer at the Statesville office primarily and Taylorsville office part-time. I was born and raised in the small town of Cleveland, North Carolina. I'm a senior at North Carolina State University studying Agricultural Business Management with minors in Agricultural Entrepreneurship, Entomology, and Economics. I'm involved in the Student Wolfpack Club and the Rurally Engaged Agricultural Leaders (REAL) Program at NC State. Reading, playing with my dog Daisy, and spending time with family and friends are some of my favorite things to do.
My passion for agriculture began in my freshman year of high school, as I became fascinated with my grandfather’s beekeeping hobby. As a result, I spent all of my spare time helping him with his hives. In 2018, I bought my first two hives after accumulating enough money and gaining the confidence to begin my own beekeeping journey. While it began as a hobby, beekeeping has evolved into something I am now extremely passionate about. It has also guided me to my degree and assisted me in the development of my small business.
Throughout high school and college, I had no idea what I wanted to do after graduation; all I knew was that I wanted to work in agriculture. While preparing for my future, I attended a virtual career fair, unsure of which businesses I would like to send my resume to. Carolina Farm Credit piqued my interest because of the excellent things I had heard about the company. I had little expectations coming into this internship, but after only a few weeks here, I'm quickly discovering the possibility of CFC being my future career path. It's not every day that you come across a company that shares your beliefs and principles and makes you feel valued right away. One core memory I will not forget will be that on my first day we prayed over our meal. This alone demonstrates the company's core pillars of Faith, Family, and Farm Credit (with a tiny f for fun).
