My name is Nick McGlamery and I am a Loan Officer Intern in the Wilkesboro branch. I am currently a senior at Appalachian State University and am double majoring in finance and banking, as well as risk management and insurance.
I grew up in Wilkes County, NC on a small cattle farm and have always been interested in finance, so finding an internship with Carolina Farm Credit almost seemed too good to be true.
At this point in my internship I have been given the opportunity to tour local sawmills, attend loan closings, enjoy some great Farm Credit meals, and tour AgFirst. I have been able to work with nearly everyone in my branch and see first-hand the role they play in the loan making process. Today marks the last day of Intern training in Columbia, so I will be heading back to my branch to see what else this internship has in store for me.
