How is it already the end of July and the internship is about to be over? It feels like yesterday I was in Statesville for my first day training and now we are preparing to give our final presentation next week. My time here has been a true blessing and I could not be more thankful that I was able to get this opportunity.
This summer I have been able to learn so much about Carolina Farm Credit and how they can help farmers obtain the finances they need to be able to operate their farm. I have had the pleasure to go out and see a bunch of different farms and meet many new great people. Throughout the summer I was able to learn the Loan Officer side and was able to see what a Credit Analyst does on a day to day basis. Being able to work with different positions within the office was very beneficial to me. I was able to see the Loan Officer side of things as well as the Credit Analysis aspect. This has allowed me to learn the different software that is being used and shown that each part of the loan process is just as important as the other.
One of my favorite parts of this internship was being able to go out and talk to farmers and see their operation. With COIVD-19 still happening it made it harder to accomplish this. I was still able to get out in the field and meet a couple of different farmers and was fortunate enough to get the chance to talk with them for a little while. Seeing the relationships held between Farm Credit and the customers was eye opening for me. It showed who Carolina Farm Credit truly was and it was a blessing to be a part of.
I cannot thank everyone here enough for this amazing experience here at Carolina Farm Credit! I have thoroughly enjoyed my short time here and am so thankful that I was still able to participate in this internship. I want to extend a special thank you to the Sparta and Jefferson offices as they have taken me in as one of their own.
